Key Initiatives
Your requests and suggestions are very important to us and they are necessary to constantly inform and improve the Program. Below are some of our key initiatives and what we are currently working on to improve the program based on your feedback:
Job Submissions
Contractors have mentioned that the Job Submission software is slow, submissions are not streamlined and desktop review can be inconsistent. To address these issues, we launched and continue to depvelop a Desktop Review Checklist to improve the job review process and are currently working on streamlining the paperwork and reducing double data entry.
EnergyPro Modeling
Contractors have given us feedback that the modeling software is not easy to understand or use. We are currently expanding EnergyPro support and training opportunities. Additionally, we are working with Energy Upgrade California to allow other modeling platforms. If you haven’t already done so, please check out the Modeling Existing Homes with EnergyPro webinar, as well as our EnergyPro Modeling Tutorials on the YouTube channel, WeAreBuildItGreen.
Field Quality Control and Mentoring
Program Participants have asked for more mentoring and guidance on best practices. Field QC can be a cumbersome requirement for homeowners and contractors, and the communication around scheduling and follow up could be improved. We are looking at ways to streamline the process and increase communication with the contractor, rater and homeowner. Please contact us at fieldqc@builditgreenutility.org if you have questions or feedback about field quality control or field verifications. Free field mentoring is available, please contact info@builditgreenutility.org to find out more.
Marketing & Customer Awareness
Program Participants would like to see more marketing and improved homeowner awareness. Please visit our new Marketing page for a comprehensive list of resources and information.
Program Requirements and Rebates
Participating Contractors found that selling Program jobs can often depend on financing and other incentives, and that some homeowners wait a long time for rebates. We are working to provide participants with resources and information on funding and other incentives to help you grow your business. Some program participants also mentioned they would like the number of unnecessary emails to be reduced, and relevant emails should be sent to target audiences.
If you would like to opt-out from receiveing Participation Workshops announcements, please email jobs@builditgreenutility.org.
